Kwankwaso Teams Up with Obi for 2027 Presidential Bid

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, announced his decision to work with Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, in an interview on Arise TV. Kwankwaso expressed confidence in Obi's capabilities as a partner for the 2027 presidential campaign under the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).

He dismissed concerns about hidden power struggles within Obi's camp, emphasizing that their alliance aims to advance the country. Kwankwaso, who previously led the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) before joining the NDC, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the North and Southeast in Nigerian politics.

He noted that their partnership is rooted in historical alliances and aims to mobilize voters effectively. The NDC is positioning itself as a significant opposition force against the current administration, with Kwankwaso's grassroots support in the North and Obi's appeal to urban youth being pivotal for the upcoming elections.
