Peter Obi Leaves ADC, Calls for Unity in Nigeria's Politics

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, publicly explained his decision to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) amid ongoing internal party crises and legal challenges that hindered his ability to participate effectively in the political process. Obi stated that his departure was not based on personal dissatisfaction but rather a reflection on Nigeria's worsening conditions, which require urgent attention and rescue.

He expressed appreciation for the ADC's leadership, including former Senate President David Mark, and acknowledged the support from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Obi warned against actions that could weaken Nigeria's democratic system, emphasizing that opposition parties should not undermine democracy or become tools against the people.
