Mr Eazi Reveals He Turned Down Chelsea FC Contract

Nigerian singer Mr Eazi disclosed during an interview on The Beat 99.9 FM that he turned down a professional contract from Chelsea FC prior to the club signing his former academy teammate, John Obi Mikel. Both players trained at the same academy in Nigeria.

Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade in 1991, explained that his decision was rooted in self-knowledge rather than a lack of ability. He recognized that while he had the opportunity, his true passion lay elsewhere, contrasting with Mikel's clear path towards a football career.

Mikel went on to spend 11 years at Chelsea, winning the Premier League title and several other major trophies, establishing himself as one of Nigeria's most decorated footballers. This decision marked a significant divergence in the careers of both individuals.
