Prof. Ochefu Declines NDC Campaign Council Appointment

Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, a professor of Economic History and Strategic Studies and former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, has publicly rejected his appointment to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) national campaign council. In a statement, Ochefu clarified that he is not a member of the NDC and was not consulted before his name appeared on a circulating list of council members.

He emphasized that he did not give consent for his inclusion and has formally written to the Chairman of the Council to decline the appointment and request the withdrawal of his name from the list. Ochefu, who is also the National Chairman of ANUA and President-General of Ochetoha K’Idoma, stated that his leadership roles require him to remain non-partisan, which he intends to uphold.

He thanked those who sought clarification and urged the public to disregard the list concerning him.
