Kaduna Government's Denial of Christian Kidnapping Linked to Political Calculations and Security Concerns

The Kaduna State Government's initial denial of the abduction of over 100 Christians in Kajuru was driven by political calculations and security concerns. Sources revealed that the denial was aimed at downplaying the incident to avoid scrutiny and protect the fragile peace in the state.

The abduction, which occurred during a church service, was confirmed by Rev. John Joseph Hayab, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the state.

The denial was linked to Governor Uba Sani's re-election prospects and alleged attempts to control media narratives on insecurity. The Nigeria Police Force headquarters expressed displeasure over the handling of the incident by the Kaduna State Police Command.
