Mourinho Explains Why Real Madrid Missed Out on Rodri

Mourinho indicated that Real Madrid had made a significant proposal to Rodri, who was a key target for the club during the summer transfer window.

He personally communicated with Rodri during the negotiations and confirmed that Madrid had a good relationship with Manchester City, approaching Rodri directly before engaging in talks with the English club. However, Rodri's uncertainty about the move led to complications.

Mourinho stated, “Rodri had doubts, he hesitated and Rodri’s doubts created doubts for me.” He praised Rodri as an extraordinary player and noted that there was nothing negative to say about him, emphasizing the respectful nature of their interactions.
