North's Support for Peter Obi Explained by Buba Galadima

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), articulated the reasons behind the North's alignment with presidential candidate Peter Obi. Speaking on Arise Television's prime time program on Wednesday, Galadima stated that the decision to support Obi was based on political calculations rather than ethnic or religious considerations.

He emphasized that the proposed alliance between Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso represents the best chance to rescue Nigeria and foster national reconciliation. Galadima described the alliance as a "heal ticket" that could help Nigerians move beyond past divisions.

He noted that many people have labeled them negatively for supporting Obi, but he refrained from mentioning specific tribes or religions, indicating a desire to focus on unity rather than division.
