Yunusa Tanko Predicts NDC's Success in 2027 Elections

Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, stated that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and his vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso, have strengthened the party's position ahead of the 2027 elections. In an interview with Punch, Tanko indicated that the NDC is expected to win more states than in 2023 due to the inclusion of Kwankwaso and a greater number of candidates, particularly in the North.

He noted that the party's candidate pool for the upcoming election is larger and stronger than in the previous election. Tanko emphasized that Obi's organizational structures have improved since 2023, which will aid in mobilizing voters.

He specifically mentioned the party's intention to win Lagos State again, citing public dissatisfaction with current government policies. Tanko expressed hope that voters would recognize the need for change and support the NDC in the upcoming elections.
