Yobe State Government Provides Free Dialysis and Medical Treatment to Combat Kidney Disease Epidemic

The Yobe State government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, is providing free dialysis and medical treatment to combat the prevalence of kidney disease in the state, particularly in areas like Jakusko, Nguru, Gashua, and Yusufari. The initiative, which treats around 600 patients monthly at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, was highlighted by Commissioner Abdullahi Bego during an interaction with journalists.

Governor Buni's administration aims to address the root causes of the kidney disease epidemic by establishing a biomedical science research and training center in collaboration with institutions like the University of Sussex. The government's efforts extend beyond immediate relief to focus on long-term healthcare solutions, including the construction of a modern maternal and child complex.
