Akeredolu's Widow Reflects on Grief and Betrayal

Dr. Anyanwu Akeredolu, the widow of former Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died on December 27, 2023, at the age of 67 after battling leukemia and prostate cancer, shared her emotional journey on social media.

She expressed feelings of betrayal from individuals she once trusted, particularly those in political circles, who distanced themselves following her husband's death. Dr.

Akeredolu noted that her experience has been a sober lesson in loyalty and the fleeting nature of political relationships. She revealed that writing has become a coping mechanism for her, helping her regain clarity and inner strength.

Despite her personal loss, she remains committed to preserving her husband's legacy and advocating for public health, gender advocacy, widowhood, and food security. She encouraged other widows facing similar challenges to remain resilient in the face of adversity.
