Wike Defends APC Chairman Visit, Dismisses Speculations

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, defended his recent visit to the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing any political speculations surrounding the meeting. Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike stated that his visit was a personal gesture and should not be interpreted politically.

He emphasized that political differences should not prevent cordial relationships among public officials. Wike, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), rejected criticisms regarding his absence of an official statement about the meeting, asserting that he is not obligated to explain personal relationships.

He also warned against reading political motives into ordinary social engagements and stressed that his priority is to focus on delivering visible infrastructure projects for residents of the Federal Capital Territory, rather than worrying about public speculation.
