Wike Free to Join APC Anytime, Says Party Chairman

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated during a media chat in Abuja that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, is free to join the APC at any time he chooses. He emphasized that APC does not compel individuals to become members, highlighting that party membership is voluntary.

The chairman noted that Wike retains the liberty to decide his political future without any requirement for political appointments or formal membership to serve in government roles. He defended the decision of Bola Tinubu, the President, to appoint individuals from various political backgrounds, including those who were previously members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The chairman cited historical examples of individuals who served in government despite their party affiliations, reinforcing the APC's stance on inclusivity across political divides.
