Wike Free to Join APC, Says FCT Chairman Yilwatda

Nentaw Yilwatda, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commented during a media chat on Wednesday night regarding the potential for Nyesom Wike, the current governor of Rivers State, to join the APC. Yilwatda affirmed that individuals are free to join the party voluntarily, stating that the APC does not compel anyone to become a member.

He further dismissed claims that political appointments by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are contingent upon joining the APC, noting that many individuals who previously criticized the current administration are now welcome. Yilwatda highlighted President Tinubu's open leadership style, contrasting it with a culture of exclusion and insults, and emphasized that the party welcomes those willing to join without coercion.
