Wike Claims Fubara Agreed Not to Seek Second Term

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, announced that the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, had signed an agreement not to pursue a second term in office. Wike made these remarks during an inspection tour of projects in Abuja on the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu's administration.

He expressed that he was not surprised by Fubara's withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, attributing it to a lack of principles and accusing Fubara of political betrayal. Wike emphasized that Fubara should not have collected a nomination form in the first place, as there was an agreement regarding his potential impeachment.

Following Fubara's withdrawal, Kingsley Chinda emerged as the APC governorship candidate, with Wike describing him as a strong candidate who has experience and a voice in the House of Representatives. Wike also highlighted various completed infrastructure projects in the state.
