Wike Dismisses Fubara Over Budget Delay Amid Ambitions

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has terminated the appointment of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara due to his failure to submit the state budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly. Wike expressed his disappointment during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, describing Fubara's priorities as misplaced.

He emphasized that instead of focusing on the budget, Fubara is pursuing ambitions for a second term. Wike warned that the delay in presenting the budget could hamper the smooth operation of government activities and the delivery of essential services to the people of Rivers State.

Additionally, George, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), expressed concerns about the ongoing crisis within the party, labeling it unprecedented and warning that it could destabilize the political environment in the country if not addressed.
