Wike Emerges as PDP National Leader, Says Abati

Reuben Abati, a former presidential aide, remarked on Monday during Arise Television's morning show that Nyesom Wike has positioned himself as the national leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). This assertion comes amid the party's ongoing internal crises.

Abati cited recent developments within the PDP that indicate a resurgence of Wike's political influence, particularly following conflicts during the party's convention and subsequent court rulings. He referenced judgments delivered by various courts, including one from President Justice Lifu Omotosho Akintola.

Despite uncertainties surrounding the authenticity of the convention held by a rival faction, Abati noted that Wike appears to be consolidating his position within the party, gaining a perception of leadership among supporters at the national level.
