Wike Works for Tinubu, Not an APC Member - Basiru

Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Nyesom Wike is not a member of the APC but is actively working for President Bola Tinubu's administration. Basiru made these remarks in response to public debates regarding Wike's political alignment and his role within the Tinubu administration.

He explained that Wike's performance in office has strengthened the image of the APC government in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Basiru linked the APC's recent victory in the FCT local government elections to the visible infrastructure projects supervised by Wike, which have helped shape voter confidence.

He emphasized that the achievements of the current FCT administration are closely connected to the electoral outcomes, asserting that citizens recognize tangible projects in both urban and suburban areas. Basiru insisted that Wike's contributions, despite his different political background, have been instrumental in the APC's success in the FCT local government elections.
