Wike, Loyalists Meet To Take Position On PDP National Convention

Former Governor of Rivers State, Wike, and his loyalists recently met to discuss their position on the upcoming PDP National Convention. Wike dismissed reports of a parallel convention being planned and emphasized that no formal decision had been made by the party's NEC.

Despite rumors of discomfort within the party over the convention planning committee, Wike's bloc may be considering alternative options. In response, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, refuted the claims of a parallel convention, stating that the party was following due process.

Ologunagba highlighted that the National Convention Planning Committee, led by Adamawa State Governor Fintiri, had already begun consultations and that all party organs and stakeholders were duly represented. The PDP spokesperson stressed that the convention process was transparent and inclusive, with no parallel conventions being planned.
