Wike, Allies Boycott Southern PDP Stakeholders Meeting In Lagos

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his allies boycotted a Southern PDP stakeholders meeting in Lagos on August 21 to discuss zoning arrangements for the party's national convention in November. The PDP National Working Committee had inaugurated a zoning committee to allocate NWC positions to different geopolitical zones.

The meeting, chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, was attended by key figures like Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George. However, Wike and former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom refused to attend, calling the meeting illegal and vowing to resist its outcomes.

They accused the organizers of sidelining key party members and threatened to take necessary steps to challenge any decisions made in secrecy.
