FCT Officials Allege Armed Naval Personnel Threatened to Shoot During Abuja Operation

FCT officials from the Development Control Department in Abuja alleged that armed naval personnel threatened to shoot staff during a law enforcement operation at an illegal construction site in Gaduwa District. The officials were attempting to seal the site linked to a former Chief Naval Staff.

The Director of Development Control failed to produce valid documents for the construction, leading to a standoff. Governor Nyesom Wike intervened due to safety concerns, recalling past violent incidents during demolitions.

The Director of Land Administration clarified the land title issues. The situation escalated despite previous approvals by the FCT Ministry.
