Unification FC and Larry FC Win N1m in Lagos Mini League

Unification FC and Larry FC emerged as champions in the women's and men's categories of the inaugural Lagos Mini Football League, each winning N1m on Saturday. Larry FC triumphed over G-Innovation 2-1 in the men's final, while Unification FC defeated Dream Stars 5-3 in the women's final.

G-Innovation received N500,000 as runners-up, and Mande FC earned N250,000 for third place in the men's category. In the women's category, Dream Stars secured N500,000 for second place, and Ghetto Tigers received N250,000 for third.

The league included 30 clubs, with 20 in the men's and 10 in the women's categories, played in a six-a-side format. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, chairman of the league, expressed excitement over the competition's success and its potential to elevate Nigerian mini football's status in Africa.

He noted that the league serves as a scouting platform for national teams and positively impacts the community by providing a safe space for youth engagement.
