APC Wins Big in Gombe Local Government Elections

The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission oversaw local government elections where the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victories in 24 chairmanship seats and 240 councillorship positions across the state’s 11 local government areas. The elections involved six political parties, including the APC, Youth Party, National Rescue Movement, Zenith Labour Party, African Action Congress, and Democratic Alliance, and were conducted across 114 wards and 2,988 polling units.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and smooth conduct of the elections, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic traditions. He called on all political parties and candidates to accept the outcomes in a spirit of sportsmanship and to prioritize the progress of the state over partisan disagreements.

The elections were noted for their peaceful atmosphere, with no major security issues reported.
