Jamilu Gwamna Wins APC Governorship Primary in Gombe

Jamilu Gwamna emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election held in Gombe State, receiving a total of 247,161 votes. The election, conducted under the guidelines of the Electoral Act 2022, saw a total of 556,081 accredited voters participating across 11 local government areas.

Sani Abubakar Danladi, the chairman of the APC governorship primary election committee, announced the results, stating that Gwamna defeated two other aspirants: Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, who garnered 12,120 votes, and Said Alkali, who received 11,612 votes. Danladi noted that the committee had received written notices of withdrawal from Pantami and Alkali; however, their names still appeared on the ballot paper as the withdrawal letters were submitted after the electoral process had commenced.

Gwamna previously ran for governorship under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the defunct Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) in earlier elections.
