Tom Tiffany Injured in Emergency Plane Landing Incident

On a Sunday evening, Republican Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate and US Representative Tom Tiffany experienced a plane emergency that resulted in minor injuries. The incident occurred while he was returning from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner.

The aircraft lost power as it approached Wausau Downtown Airport, prompting the pilot to execute an emergency landing on Lake Wausau around 9 pm local time. Tiffany and the pilot managed to escape the aircraft as it began to take on water and swam to a shallow area of the lake, where they awaited rescue from emergency personnel.

Tiffany expressed gratitude towards the pilot, the Wausau Fire Department, and first responders for their swift assistance. He later shared a hospital update, reflecting on the experience as a reminder of life's value.

The Federal Aviation Administration has taken over the investigation into the incident. Democratic opponent David Crowley expressed relief that no serious injuries occurred during the incident.
