Wolves Cancel Training After Arokodare Standoff

Wolverhampton Wanderers canceled a first-team training session on Monday after Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare reportedly refused to leave the training pitch following instructions from the club’s new manager, Cesar Peixoto. This incident, which drew significant attention in England, led to the deployment of additional security personnel at the Compton Park training ground due to escalating tensions between Arokodare and the coaching staff.

Arokodare insisted on remaining with the first-team squad despite being informed by Peixoto that he would not be training with them. Consequently, he was omitted from the squad traveling to Maidenhead for a pre-season friendly.

Arokodare had previously been left out of Wolves’ warm-weather training camp in Portugal but received a late invitation due to an injury to Adam Armstrong. The situation has intensified speculation regarding Arokodare's future at Molineux, particularly as a proposed loan move to Italian club Torino has stalled.

Peixoto, who became the Wolves manager in June, has emphasized discipline and accountability as key aspects of his management approach.
