Wolves Cancel Training After Arokodare Transfer Protest

Wolverhampton Wanderers canceled a training session after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the pitch while demanding a transfer to Fiorentina. This protest occurred after Wolves rejected a bid from the Serie A club, despite having accepted an offer from Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Arokodare, who joined Wolves from Genk for £24 million last summer, has struggled at the club, scoring only three league goals as Wolves finished bottom of the Premier League and were relegated. The incident led new Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto to terminate the training session as the club prepares for the new season.

Arokodare will not participate in the friendly against Maidenhead United as Wolves evaluate the situation. This protest adds to a challenging period for Arokodare, who faced disciplinary action in April following a confrontation with teammate Mateus Mane.

Peixoto, who replaced Rob Edwards last month, faces the task of guiding Wolves back to the Premier League.
