Women Affairs Minister Launches ₦6 Billion Fund in Ogun State

The ₦6 billion Community Investment Fund (CIF) for Women Affinity Groups (WAGs) was officially launched on September 23, 2026, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, in collaboration with the Ogun State Government. This initiative is part of the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) and aims to strengthen women's economic empowerment, enhance collective enterprise, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

The fund will provide eligible WAGs with resources to expand their businesses, create jobs, and increase household incomes. Ogun State has established 5,394 WAGs with 127,105 members across seven Local Government Areas.

The Federal Ministry has trained 368 Ward Facilitators, and the groups have collectively saved ₦2,692,257,200, disbursing ₦4,005,853,050 in loans. The Minister emphasized the importance of responsible fund utilization and maintaining transparency, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
