Women Empowerment Focus at SheIsIncluded 2026 Summit

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, called for a transformative approach to women's economic empowerment during the SheIsIncluded 2026 Summit. She emphasized the need for women to transition from being beneficiaries of intervention programs to co-creators of prosperity.

The summit, held under the theme “Designing for Delivery: Financing. Systems.

Scale,” was organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion. The initiative aims to economically empower 10 million Nigerian women through skills development, recognized credentials, and enhanced access to employment and entrepreneurship.

This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and seeks to establish a delivery framework involving various stakeholders. The SheIsIncluded initiative will provide women with free mobile-first learning in local languages, culminating in verifiable credentials.

Mamadou Kwidjim Toure, founder of Ubuntu Tribe, highlighted the role of technology in removing barriers to opportunity. The summit marks a shift from policy discussions to practical implementation in the government's broader economic development agenda.
