Women's Health Spotlighted at Lagos IWD 2026 Event

The event held in Ikeja, Lagos, on International Women's Day (IWD) 2026, centered on women's health, featuring industry leaders, medical experts, and policy advocates. Keynote speaker Bunmi Ok addressed the need to challenge entrenched social norms limiting women's professional roles.

Chairperson Adeola Odesanya emphasized women's contributions to leadership and care. Tolulop Medebem, President of the Experiential Marketing Association of Nigeria, discussed the evolution of women's roles in the market.

Oluyemi Taiwo, Medical Director at Oril Ageg General Hospital, warned of declining health outcomes among women, identifying key health challenges such as cardiovascular disease and mental health pressures. The event called for a shift towards preventive healthcare and regular screenings, urging policy inclusivity to support women's health priorities.

The Home Advertising Association of Nigeria's Sola Akinsiku and panellists including Emmanuel Ajufo, Seyi Layad, Brenda Nwagwu, Abimbola Ijaniyi, and Temitop Runsew contributed to discussions, culminating in the inauguration of a new Wohan executive, reinforcing the commitment to women's health advocacy.
