Workers Protest at Abuja Hotel Over Labor Practices

Members of the Hotel and Personal Service Senior Staff Association picketed the Abuja Continental Hotel on Monday, protesting against alleged unfair labor practices, poor working conditions, and issues related to the unionization of workers. The association, affiliated with the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), accused the hotel management of failing to address concerns regarding workers' freedom of association and what they termed indecent working conditions.

Despite attempts to engage with hotel management, the union reported that their efforts were rebuffed. During the protest, union members attempted to lock the hotel gates, but this was resisted by police and hotel officials.

As of the time of publication, the entrance to the hotel remained blocked by the protesting union members.
