L-PRESS Enhances Zamfara Livestock Farming with New Equipment

The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRESS) has distributed production inputs and feed-processing equipment to farmers’ unions and clusters in Zamfara State. This initiative, supported by the World Bank, includes feed-processing machines and improved pasture seeds to enhance livestock productivity and address animal feed access challenges.

Dr Mukhtar Salihu Anka, the animal husbandry officer of L-PRESS in Zamfara, announced the distribution at the L-PRESS office in Gusau. The project will benefit over 40 livestock unions, including clusters such as Bulunku, Daza, Gidandutsi, and Kuraji.

The distribution consists of 100 crushers, 100 choppers, 50 grinders, 50 pellet machines, and over 1,000 sacks of improved pasture seeds. Anka urged beneficiaries to utilize the items responsibly and mentioned that they had been trained on proper usage.
