World Bank Warns of Job Challenges in Nigeria by 2050 - Slow Job Creation Pace

The World Bank's Africa Pulse report projects that Nigeria and four other countries will face nearly half of Africa's job challenges by 2050. Despite economic growth in Africa from 2025 to 2024, the pace of job creation remains slow, particularly in Nigeria, which is expected to have the largest employment challenge in the region over the next 25 years.

The report highlights that Africa's population is projected to increase by 620 million by 2050, with Nigeria making a significant contribution. While there has been a rebound in economic growth, the report warns that this growth has not translated into substantial employment gains, emphasizing the need for focused efforts to address the employment crisis.
