Ronaldo Declares 2026 World Cup as His Final Tournament

Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of the Portugal National Football Team, confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be his final tournament, bringing an end to his remarkable career that began in Germany in 2006. At 41 years old, Ronaldo made this announcement ahead of Portugal's Round of 16 clash against Spain.

He has participated in six World Cups, becoming the first player in history to score in six different tournaments. Ronaldo has already scored three goals in the ongoing tournament, including his first-ever goal in the knockout stage during Portugal's victory over Croatia in the Round of 32.

Despite the focus on his personal milestones, Ronaldo emphasized that his priority is to help Portugal progress further in the tournament.
