An Argentine psychologist has alleged that the Argentina National Team, known as La Albiceleste and led by Lionel Messi, was ordered to lose the 2026 World Cup final against Spain. The final took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, where Spain's Ferran Torres scored the only goal in extra time (106′), securing Spain's second World Cup title.

Argentina's performance was notably poor, as they became the first team in World Cup final history to record zero shots on target in the first 90 minutes and did not manage a single shot on target throughout the entire 120 minutes. Star forward Lionel Messi, who had previously scored eight goals and provided four assists in the tournament, only managed one blocked shot during the match.
