Didier Deschamps, the head coach of the France National Football Team, has identified Spain as the clear favorites to advance to the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The two teams are set to meet in the first semi-final on Tuesday, July 14, at Dalla Stadium.

Deschamps emphasized Spain's impressive goal-scoring record, noting that they have conceded only one goal so far in the tournament. He stated, "Spain are clear favorites without doubt," while also acknowledging the strength of his own team, which has scored 16 goals and conceded just two.

Historically, France has faced Spain 38 times, suffering 18 defeats and securing 13 victories. Deschamps pointed out that Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, has led his squad to success in their last two encounters against France, specifically in the 2024 UEFA European Championship semi-final and the 2025 UEFA Nations League semi-final.
