Falconets Beat Malawi 2-0 in World Cup Qualifier

In the first leg of the World Cup qualifier, the Falconets achieved a 2-0 victory against Malawi. The match commenced with an own goal credited to Maureen Kenneth shortly after the start of the second half, putting Nigeria ahead 1-0.

Ifeanyi then extended Nigeria's lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute with a composed finish, despite two defenders on the goal line. This match marked the Falconets' third consecutive clean sheet in home qualifiers.

Under the guidance of coach Mose Aduku, the team is set to travel to Malawi for the return leg at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on May 9. The aggregate winner of this matchup will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup final in Poland later this year, representing Africa in the tournament.
