Falconets Prepare for Malawi Clash in U20 Qualifiers

The Nigerian U20 women's national team, known as the Falconets, has concluded an intensive three-week training camp in Abuja and has arrived in Ikenne, Ogun State, in preparation for their FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifying match against Malawi. The team will depart for Ikenne on Sunday and is set to host the first leg of the final qualifying round on Saturday, May 2.

Head coach Mose Aduk expressed confidence in the team's readiness, praising their commitment and determination throughout the preparation period. The players have undergone rigorous tactical drills and fitness work to ensure they are in peak condition for the decisive fixture.

Team captain Joi Igbokw emphasized the importance of support from Nigerians as they aim to secure a strong first-leg advantage and continue their push for qualification for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, scheduled for September 5-26. Nigeria has a commendable record in this competition, having qualified for every edition since its inception in 2002.
