Outspan Celebrates Women Dairy Farmers on World Milk Day

On June 4, 2026, Outspan Nigeria Limited commemorated World Milk Day in Kano State, emphasizing the vital role of women dairy farmers and the growth of the local dairy value chain. The event showcased the company's commitment to enhancing the dairy sector through backward integration strategies.

Dr. Isah Abukakar, manager of the backward integration program at Outspan, outlined initiatives aimed at improving dairy farmer capacity, milk collection efficiency, and cattle health.

These efforts are designed to enable farmers to increase milk yield and improve their livelihoods, allowing children to attend school. Alhaji Abba Yusuf, district head of Dawakin Kudu, expressed gratitude for Outspan's support in raising milk production and enhancing market linkages.

The event also recognized Rakia Saadu as the best female participant in the Kano dairy value chain. The theme for this year's World Milk Day celebrated women dairy farmers, underscoring their significant contributions to the sector.
