Billionaires' Wealth Hits $15.1 Trillion in 2025

According to a report by wealth intelligence firm Altrata, the combined wealth of the world’s billionaires rose to a record $15.1 trillion in 2025, fueled by a surge in artificial intelligence-related investments and technology stocks. The global billionaire population reached an all-time high of 3,795 individuals, representing an 8.2% increase from the previous year, marking the largest annual growth in five years.

The report indicated that billionaire wealth increased by 12.8% during the year, contributing to greater wealth concentration among the richest individuals. Altrata identified 150 publicly listed companies significantly contributing to billionaire wealth, noting that those investing at least $30 million in AI over the past five years experienced 23% higher market capitalisation growth between 2024 and 2025 compared to those that did not.

Additionally, 29 individuals, termed “superbillionaires,” controlled $4.1 trillion, accounting for 27% of total billionaire wealth. The report highlighted that 2025 was favorable for wealth creation, with all major asset classes delivering positive returns.
