Elon Musk Tops Forbes' Richest List with $892 Billion

As of August 2026, Elon Musk has solidified his position as the world's richest person, with an estimated fortune of $892 billion, according to Forbes. His wealth surged by $202 billion in one month, recovering from a $363 billion decline in July, primarily due to increases in the value of his stakes in SpaceX and Tesla.

Musk's fortune is more than three times that of Larry Page, the second-richest individual, who saw a $15 billion decrease in his wealth during August. The top 10 richest people, as estimated by Forbes, include Larry Page ($277 billion), Jeff Bezos ($268 billion), Sergey Brin ($256 billion), Michael Dell ($241 billion), Mark Zuckerberg ($197 billion), Larry Ellison ($193 billion), Jensen Huang ($191 billion), Steve Ballmer ($155 billion), and Amancio Ortega ($148 billion).

The total wealth of the top 10 is approximately $2.8 trillion, up from $2.6 trillion the previous month. Notably, Bernard Arnault and Warren Buffett have dropped out of the top 10.
