Final Batch of 315 Nigerians to Return from South Africa

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that the final batch of 315 Nigerians will return from South Africa on July 15, 2026. This evacuation flight, operated by Air Peace, is scheduled to depart Johannesburg at 1:30 AM and is expected to arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 6:30 AM.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, who stated that the evacuation is in response to recent xenophobic attacks and security concerns in South Africa. This flight marks the fifth and final evacuation, following four previous flights that successfully brought home 1,141 Nigerians starting from June 11, 2026.

Additionally, 66 individuals were evacuated by private arrangements, and 39 others were facilitated by Air Peace. The Ministry reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to protecting Nigerians abroad and expressed appreciation to stakeholders involved in the evacuation exercise.
