This marks a significant rise compared to the previous year, where prices ranged from N1,200 to N2,000. Mr.

Ibrahim Hassan, a trader at Oyingbo Market, noted that the fresh harvest is limited as the planting season just began in August. Consumers like Mr.

Amaka Njoku prefer to buy from nearby markets for convenience, while others, such as Mr. Titilop Adekey, opt for larger markets where prices tend to be lower.

The price of yam in Oyingbo has reached N4,000, reflecting the impact of transport costs and market location on purchasing decisions. The ongoing fluctuations in yam prices underscore the challenges faced by consumers in Lagos as they navigate the food market.
