Nine Suspects Remanded in Kuje Over Yelwata Killings Terrorism Charges

Nine suspects, including Ardo Lawal Moham Dono and Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi, were remanded in Kuje following their arraignment by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik Mondai. The suspects were charged with 57 counts related to a terrorist attack in Yelwata in June 2025, resulting in approximately 150 deaths.

The Federal Government accused the suspects of conspiring to attack the community, solicit funds, and recruit attackers from different states. Lateef Fagbemi, representing the suspects, pleaded not guilty on their behalf.

The court struck the name of one suspect, Yakubu Mammah, who remains at large. The defense lawyers did not oppose the application to strike his name.

The court adjourned the case to February 26-27 for further hearings.
