Yeni Kuti Defends Saheed Osupa's Spiritual Practices

Yeni Kuti, daughter of the Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has come to the defense of veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, who recently made a humorous confession regarding his use of spiritual practices, referred to as 'juju', to enhance his performance. This remark was made during a performance on March 30, 2026, which was captured in a video that surfaced online on Wednesday.

In the video, Osupa advised his backup singers to adopt spiritual practices to improve their memory, as he noticed some struggled to keep up with the lyrics. Kuti explained during an interview with TVC Entertainment that there is nothing wrong with Osupa's choice of spiritual practice, stating that it does not necessarily harm others.

She compared it to prayers in various religions, noting that practices such as Ifa oracle success should not be condemned, as they are no different from Christian prayers in churches or Muslim prayers in mosques.
