APC Chairman Yilwatda Calls for Action Against Violence

Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), issued a statement on Friday addressing the alarming trend of violence in Plateau State, particularly following the recent killings in Angwan Rukuba, North Local Government Area.

He criticized the routine outrage that follows such tragedies, stating that it must no longer be treated as a temporary response. Yilwatda commended President Bola Tinubu for his visit to the state, which he described as a demonstration of leadership and empathy during a time of grief.

He called for a coordinated effort among community leaders and stakeholders to identify and report suspicious activities to enhance security. Yilwatda urged security agencies to upgrade their operational methods, advocating for the use of modern surveillance technologies, including artificial intelligence and drones, to effectively combat the evolving criminal networks.

He warned that without adequate protection, the economic future of Plateau State would be severely compromised, calling for a united approach to restore peace and stability.
