Kashim Tumsah Seeks Fair Primaries in Yobe Governorship Race

Kashim Tumsah, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially declared his intention to contest in the upcoming Yobe State governorship primaries by obtaining a nomination form at the party's secretariat. In a statement issued on Friday, Tumsah pledged to adhere to due process and international democratic principles, committing to participate actively in a transparent and fair electoral process.

He called on party members to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the political process. Tumsah expressed concern regarding reports of endorsements that could undermine unity within the party, warning that such actions without broad engagement among aspirants could weaken confidence in the process.

He urged the APC's national leadership to remain neutral and ensure credible primaries, emphasizing the importance of a level playing field to avoid perceptions of bias that could damage the party's credibility. The APC is expected to conduct its governorship primaries in Yobe State in the coming week.
