Buni Urges APC Unity After Lawan's Guber Withdrawal

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State spoke to supporters after the withdrawal of Ahmed Lawan and other candidates from the 2027 governorship race. He emphasized the importance of party unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to avoid actions that could cause division.

Buni made these remarks during a solidarity rally in Damaturu, attended by thousands from 17 local government areas. He described the turnout as a sign that Yobe remains a stronghold for the APC.

Buni urged residents to refrain from political bitterness and name-calling, stressing that such behavior does not reflect the cultural character of the people. He commended the support from the residents for his administration and the decisions made by the party leadership, which he believes will yield positive results, including the establishment of an airport in the state.

Buni called for continued support for the preferred governorship aspirant, Baba Malam Wali.
