Yobe East Senator Musa Withdraws from 2027 Race

Yobe East Senator Musa has officially withdrawn from the race for the 2027 gubernatorial election, declaring his support for Governor Mai Mala Buni's preferred successor, Baba Mallam Wali. In a statement, Musa indicated that his withdrawal aligns with the decisions of party leadership and political arrangements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He confirmed that he will no longer seek the senatorial ticket or pursue any electoral position, and he has instructed his team to stop circulating campaign materials promoting his candidacy. Musa congratulated Baba Mallam Wali on emerging as the preferred governorship candidate of the party leadership and wished him success in the upcoming elections.

Musa also expressed gratitude towards Governor Buni and Senator Ibrahim Geidam for their mentorship and support throughout his political journey, which began with his role as the executive secretary of the Yobe State Scholarship Board.
