Yobe Emir Leads Prayer for Rain Amid Dry Spell

On Sunday, the Emir of Bade in Yobe State, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, led a special prayer session for rain, attended by Islamic scholars, district heads, ward heads, community leaders, and a large number of residents. The prayer sought Allah’s mercy for abundant rainfall, a bountiful harvest, and protection from drought and other calamities.

The Emir urged the community to intensify worship, prayers, and repentance, emphasizing the importance of unity and good conduct to attract divine mercy. He concluded the prayers with supplications for blessed rain and peace for the land.

The event was prompted by a prolonged dry spell affecting many parts of Yobe State, raising concerns among farmers about the impact on staple crops such as millet, sorghum, and maize. Agricultural experts warned that continued lack of rainfall could lead to food insecurity and economic hardship for rural households dependent on farming.
