Yobe State Begins Sale of Nomination Forms for Elections

The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOSIEC) has officially opened the sale of nomination forms for the upcoming local government elections set for June 6, 2026. The announcement was made in a state press statement issued by permanent member Maaji Jumbam on behalf of the commission.

The sale of nomination forms will take place from March 22 to March 31, 2026, at the commission's office located at the State Ministry of Works premises on Gashua Road in Damaturu. The costs for the nomination forms are set at N300,000 for the position of chairman, N250,000 for vice chairman, and N200,000 for councillorship.

Jumbam urged political parties interested in fielding candidates to do so within the stipulated time frame to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines and existing rules governing electoral operations.
